Yesterday, Pierre gasley announced to stay at Little Red Bull. Christian Horner, the manager of Red Bull Racing team, made it clear that gasley was not on the candidate list of Red Bull.
Horner said: “Obviously, we have mastered a lot of information about drivers for a long time.”
Pierre did a good job. He drove well in the environment of Little Red Bull. He was very comfortable in that car. Maybe the environment pressure was lower and the expectations were lower.”
“I think it is obvious that their vision as a team is different, just like the No. 2 driver of Red Bull. Therefore, in the team of Pierre and Little Red Bull, they can work well in both directions, which makes sense.”
When asked why gasley didn’t get a second chance at Red Bull, Horner said that he wouldn’t do better than Alex arburn.
“Our first task is to give Alex a chance to prove that he is worthy of this seat.”
“Don’t forget his performance after promotion last year. In the rest of 2019, his performance was far more than Pierre. If we change them back again, what will be the difference?”
Horner also explained why it was hard for gasley, Arben and Daniel kweat to keep pace with his teammates Max Vista pan.
“I think this car is harder to drive than Red Bull,” Horner said. We know that this is very clear. I think the tail of this car is more sensitive, which may make the driver feel uneasy.”
Max handled it very well. Other drivers have to work harder in this respect. I think this is the truth.”
“I think if Alex was in Red Bull, he might do a job very similar to Pierre we saw last year. I have no doubt about it.”
“So this is just the characteristic of our racing car. It is difficult for them to maintain confidence when attacking corners. You can also see a little bit of it on lerclarek and Vettel of Ferrari, and also in the matches between Hamilton and Bottas. Sometimes this is the case.”
